About Aligned Waters
Becoming More Fully Yourself
Aligned Waters grew from a simple idea: different chapters of our lives may call for different ways of reconnecting with ourselves.
For me, that understanding began through my own experience.
The core philosophy
Different pathways toward the same thing
For much of my life, I didn't realize how disconnected I had become from my body. It wasn't until significant health challenges began demanding my attention that I started listening differently. What began as a search for answers gradually became something much larger: a process of learning my body, recognizing old patterns and discovering who I was beneath ways of being that I had carried for years.
Along the way, I found different tools that helped me reconnect.
CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release introduced me to a different way of listening to my body.
Working with stones gave me something tangible to return my attention to when I wanted to feel more grounded and present.
Vocal toning gave me a way to explore breath, vibration, tension and expression through my own voice.
Herbalism returned something else to me: participation. Learning about plants transformed tea from something I simply drank into an everyday ritual of curiosity, intention and care.
And nature continually reminded me that connection doesn't only happen inside four walls.
These practices became different pathways toward the same thing: becoming more fully myself. That is what eventually became Aligned Waters.
Today, Aligned Waters brings those pathways together through different Chapters: Healing, Talisman, Voice and Herbal.
I don't believe every chapter of life asks for the same tool.
Sometimes we are drawn toward the body.
Sometimes we need to create.
Sometimes we need to use our voice.
Sometimes we want ritual, plants or something tangible to carry with us.
Aligned Waters is an invitation to explore those different pathways and discover what helps you feel more connected to yourself as you move through change.
Because alignment doesn't have to mean remaining still.
Water moves.
So do we.

The Person Behind Aligned Waters
For a long time, I didn't know what it felt like to feel truly connected to my body.
I had lived with anxiety, depression and a sense that something about my experience was different, without fully understanding why. Experiences from early childhood had shaped the way I moved through the world, but much of that history remained outside of my conscious memory.
Years later, while living in North Carolina, my body began demanding my attention.
I was experiencing significant health challenges and frightening physical reactions, and I became afraid that my body would eventually prevent me from living the kind of life I wanted.
That fear became the beginning of a very different relationship with myself.
Learning to Listen
While attending massage school, I began receiving more bodywork and studying CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute.
I completed CranioSacral Therapy 1 and 2, but studying SomatoEmotional Release became an especially important turning point for me.
The work gave me another language for exploring my physical sensations, emotional responses and the patterns I had learned over the course of my life.
As I continued that exploration, memories from my childhood began resurfacing. I started understanding parts of my history and myself that I had previously been unable to access.
What followed wasn't a single breakthrough. It was years of learning.
I began noticing fear responses and triggers. I questioned patterns that had once felt automatic. I became curious about what my body was communicating instead of only being frightened by it.
Gradually, I started discovering something I hadn't expected.
Me.
Not simply the person I had learned to be in response to everything that had happened, but the person underneath those responses.
That process continues today. I think of myself as a forever student.
Finding Different Doorways
As my relationship with my body changed, my curiosity expanded beyond a single modality.
I became increasingly interested in energy work and crystalline practices. Stones became tangible tools I could work with when I wanted an external reminder to return to myself. That relationship eventually found its way into the copper and stone talismans I now create.
Voice became another doorway.
Through vocal toning, I discovered how sound, breath and vibration could give me a way to explore expression and physical tension using an instrument I already carried with me.
Then there were plants.
My health experiences had made me want to understand everyday ways of participating in my own care rather than feeling that I only had options when something had already gone wrong.
I began studying herbalism.
I was struck by how much knowledge about plants had simply never been passed down to me. Herbs I had previously thought of only as seasonings or ingredients became an invitation to learn about the long relationship humans have had with the plants growing around us.
Tea became part of my daily rhythm.
Preparing it in the morning or evening created a moment to stop. To notice. To learn about the plant in my cup. To return to myself.
Herbalism gave me knowledge, but it also gave me ritual. That relationship eventually grew into The Herbal Chapter and Twelve Months of Teas.
From a Practice to Aligned Waters
Aligned Waters originally began as a way for me to continue my CranioSacral practice.
But eventually that definition became too small.
My own experience had taught me that there wasn't one practice responsible for helping me reconnect with myself. There were many.
Bodywork. Sound. Plants. Stones. Animals. Nature. Creativity.
And increasingly, I wanted my work to exist in relationship with the natural world rather than only inside a treatment room.
So Aligned Waters evolved.
Today, the work is organized into Chapters because that is how I have come to understand life itself.
We change. What supports us may change with us. The practice that speaks to one chapter may not be the practice we reach for in another.
Through Healing, Herbal, Voice and Talisman, I create spaces, experiences and tangible tools for that exploration.
My role isn't to tell someone who they should become.
I'm interested in something much more personal: creating opportunities for people to listen, explore and discover what helps them become more authentically themselves.
That is the heart of Aligned Waters.
Water moves. So do we.
How the Chapters relate
How would you like to connect with yourself in this chapter?
The Chapters are not four separate answers. They are four ways of asking a similar question.
A person may feel drawn toward one Chapter today and another six months from now. They may also discover that several Chapters belong together.
A talisman can accompany a transition explored through Healing. Tea can become part of the ritual before a Voice gathering. Voice can become part of someone's relationship with their body.
Plants, stones, animals, sound and the body all exist within the same natural world.
The purpose of the Chapters is not to separate these relationships. It is to give people different places to begin.
The shared philosophy
Across every Chapter, the invitation is the same
Aligned Waters does not exist to define who someone should become. It exists to create opportunities for exploration.
Notice what you are drawn toward.
Become curious about your experience.
Explore what helps you feel connected.
Carry forward what serves you.
And allow your tools to change as you do.
Water moves. So do we.
