The Talisman Chapter brings together natural stone, copper, symbolism and handmade artistry to create pieces meant to be carried through the chapters of our lives.

Some talismans begin with a stone that catches my attention and become one-of-one pieces. Others begin with someone's story.

Either way, I don't believe a talisman decides its meaning for you. You do.

It can represent an intention, honor a transition, remind you of something important or simply be a piece of the natural world you feel drawn to carrying with you.

Humans have carried meaningful objects for generations. Stones. Jewelry. Tokens. Objects collected from important places. Pieces passed from one person to another.

Sometimes their importance comes from tradition. Sometimes from memory. And sometimes an object becomes meaningful simply because of what it represents to the person carrying it.

My own relationship with stones began during periods of change when wearing them became a tangible way of bringing my attention back to an intention or to myself.

Eventually, that relationship met another creative practice: working with copper. The pieces that emerged became more than jewelry to me. They became markers of chapters.

That is the heart of the Talisman Chapter. Not a promise that an object will change your life. An invitation to decide what you want it to represent while you change your own.

One-of-One Talismans begin at the maker's table rather than with a commission. I select the stone, work with its natural shape and create the copper design around it. No two are intended to be identical.

Each finished talisman receives its own name, story and Chapter identity before entering the collection.

You aren't choosing from mass-produced designs or selecting a necklace from a catalog. You're encountering something that already exists and deciding whether its story belongs with yours.

A Custom Chapter Talisman is created around a transition, intention, milestone or chapter that matters to you. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly which stone you want or what the finished piece should look like.

In fact, I'd rather you didn't design the piece for me. Instead, tell me about what you want the talisman to represent. You establish the intention. I interpret it artistically.

1. Tell me about your chapter

Your commission begins with a short questionnaire. Rather than asking you to design a necklace, I'll ask about the story behind it. You may share:

• the chapter or transition you're moving through
• what you want the piece to represent
• colors you're drawn toward
• colors you don't want
• symbols or qualities that feel meaningful
• preferred necklace length or general style
• your budget
• anything else you want me to know

Share as much or as little of the personal story as feels comfortable. You never need to disclose private details in order for me to create for you.

2. Choose how we approach the stone

You have three pathways.

3. Concept confirmation

Before creation begins, you'll receive one concept confirmation. This includes:

• selected stone
• broad creative direction
• estimated final price
• any special sourcing considerations

This is your opportunity to confirm that we're moving in the right direction before I begin making the piece. Custom Chapter Talismans are commissioned artwork rather than a sketch-and-revision design service. Once the concept is approved, the artistic execution is entrusted to me.

4. Creation

Then I make your talisman. I work with the individual shape and character of the stone rather than trying to force every piece into an identical design. Copper may be wrapped, twisted, braided or otherwise formed depending on what the piece calls for. Because the work is done by hand, small variations are part of its character.

5. Completion

When your talisman is complete, the remaining balance is due before shipping or delivery. Your finished piece is then prepared with its Chapter Card, care information and Aligned Waters packaging. And its next chapter begins with you.

Whether you choose a One-of-One Talisman or commission a Custom Chapter Talisman, your talisman includes:

Different cultures, spiritual traditions and contemporary metaphysical practices have associated stones with particular symbols, qualities and meanings.

When these associations are included with an Aligned Waters talisman, they are presented as traditional or metaphysical associations, not guaranteed effects.

A stone traditionally associated with grounding does not promise to make someone grounded. A stone associated with communication does not guarantee that someone will communicate differently.

These traditions can instead become another layer of symbolism through which you relate to the piece. You may feel connected to that history. You may give the stone an entirely different meaning. You may simply love its color. All three are welcome.

The meaning ultimately belongs to the person wearing it.

Copper is a living-looking material. Bright copper naturally changes as it encounters air, moisture, skin and time. It may deepen, darken or develop a patina.

This isn't necessarily damage. It is part of the natural behavior of the material. Some people love allowing their copper to age. Others prefer periodically brightening it.

Your Care Card will include guidance for caring for your particular piece. Natural changes in copper coloration are not considered manufacturing defects.
